The Project

A landmark destination, furnished room by room
Solaire Resort & Casino is one of Manila’s defining destinations for leisure and entertainment — a place where guests expect every detail to feel considered. Norman Kings was entrusted with crafting the furniture for 250 guest rooms: 3,260 pieces, each made to measure for the spaces they inhabit.
From the headboards that anchor each room to the minibars, screens and mirrors that shape how guests move and live within it, every element was conceived as part of one coherent interior — then produced, finished and delivered within 90 days.
Scope of work
Seven product families, one design language.
Each room brings together a complete set of pieces. Designed as a family, they share proportions, materials and details — so the room reads as one composition rather than a collection of separate items.
Craft, repeated thousands of times
Furnishing a hotel at scale is a test of consistency. A single room can be perfected by hand; 250 rooms demand that the same precision be repeated across thousands of pieces — without losing the character that makes furniture feel crafted rather than manufactured.
Hospitality furniture must also perform. It is used every day by different guests, cleaned constantly, and expected to look as good years on as it did at opening. Materials, joinery and finishes were chosen with that life in mind.
Our task was to bring both together: the warmth of bespoke work and the reliability of a production programme built for hospitality.
